brush review: day 1 - coastal scents!

Hi everyone! It's been a few days, but I've been busy helping my mom. Anyway, I said I'd be back with a brush review. These are assorted from a few different places. First up, are my Coastal Scents brushes. I am loving these, they are doing a super great job, cleaned very well, and are super soft.
Left to right: Classic Buffer Synthetic, Pro Blending Fluff, Classic Angled Liner Medium Natural, Classic Blush Angle Small Synthetic, and Classic Blender Synthetic

These were purchased from coastalscents.com and were fairly cheap, but great quality. They are super soft and I cleaned them before first use, minimal shedding, the liner brush didn't shed at all! I love the buffer brush for anything from powder all over the face, powder under the eyes, blending in blush or bronzer, it's a great multiple use brush. Next, is the Pro Blending Fluff. Now, I searched high and low for a great blending brush and so many reviews said this was a possible MAC 217 dupe. I've never owned it, but this brush makes a gorgeous crease, cleans lines very well. I am so in love with it! I got the angled liner brush for two reasons, to fill in my brows, and to line shadow on the bottom lash line. I love it, does a beautiful job for both of these. Also, the medium was a great choice for what I am using it for! Next, I needed a good blush brush. I love the look of the angled ones, and I was right. Makes a great spot on the face without looking clowny, or can be used for contouring along the jaw. Last but not least, I wanted a blending brush to just use to clean along the edges, fix little mistakes, etc. Overall, these are great brushes and I love them! They are super soft, nice handles, well put together. I would definitely repurchase all of them!

Shany Cosmetics 40 Boutique

Hello everyone! I have neglected this blog for far, far too long. When you start a project like this, sometimes you just drop it because it was spur of the moment type ideas. I'd really like to at least try getting back into it so here I am with a review! This is this review I promised from the previous posted FOTD. This is the Shany Cosmetics 40 pan Boutique palette. 40 colors ranging from bright to neutral to smoky. There is a wide variety also of matte and shimmers. I really like this palette, not for everyday use per say, but I have used it a lot. The only issue I had was that during shipping, the white in the upper left hand corner shattered, hence white everywhere. As for coloring, some colors have great pigmentation and some colors are kinda chalky and powdery but don't be turned off, still a beautiful palette!

                                                              Image taken with no flash.
                                                         (Excuse the hairy hands, black/browns)
                                                             Blue/magenta/purple

Overall, I hope you liked this review. I really like this palette and would probably repurchase. Keep reading, e.l.f. brush review coming soon! :)

Showdown: Eye Primer!

Hi everyone! Today I'm gonna feature a "showdown" I guess you could say on two products. The first one is ELF Eyelid Primer in Sheer. It retails on the ELF website for $1! I really like this product, does what it says. Keeps my shadows in place for a long time! I did find that it is kind of chunky, but when you smooth it out it dries fast!

Next up, I have the NYX HD Shadow Base. It retails on the NYX website for $7. I love this! Really makes my eye shadow colors pop, whether they are brights or darks. One downside is that it takes a few minutes to dry and it kinda watery vs. the ELF one.

Overall, both products are great and do what they say! I would definitely purchase both again.

Super busy, super tired, but reviews coming!!

So, went to the mall today got some thiiings. Reviews coming tomorrow!!

Technical difficulties!

Boo! I am having a technical difficulty/fail! My camera battery isn't wanting to charge, so I may have to get a new charger for that. However, in the mean time I will possibly be using my BlackBerry phone camera in place. I just got a mini-haul (a few products) from SHANY cosmetics, and I can't wait to post the review and swatches! I have a super busy day tomorrow, going to the mall to get some goodies to hopefully post about ;) ;) Talk to you all soon!

Beauty Blog!

Hey!

This is my first post, obviously! Wanting to try and do some reviews and such for beauty products. I LOVE makeup, not obsessed I suppose but getting there!! I'm mostly into drugstore cheapie products, my favorite brand would probably have to be Maybelline. I also love NYX, Rimmel, Covergirl, NYC, ah the list could go on forever! :) So anyway, hopefully I'll get into the mood to post pictures and such and someone will stumble along my page.
